I used to dread flights. Then I found the hoodie that finally let Me Consistently Sleep Through Them.

Note: After reading this you'll understand why most travel "sleep hacks" are a waste of money - and what actually worked for someone who flies 8+ times a year and always landed exhausted.

AS SEEN ON

I'm not someone who complains. But after my third long-haul in two months - Singapore to London, a red-eye to New York, then back - I hit a wall.
Not the jet lag kind. The other kind. The kind where you land after 13 hours, your eyes are puffy and raw, your neck hurts from trying to prop yourself against a window, and you feel like you've spent the night at a party you didn't want to be at.
The cabin had never felt darker in a bad way - not dark enough. The screen from the guy's seat in front of me was blazing through the night like a small cinema. The flight attendant's torch swept past every 45 minutes. The couple across the aisle kept their overhead light on for four hours. I pulled my regular hoodie over my face at one point. It lasted maybe twelve minutes before it fell off, and the light came flooding back in.
I wasn't just tired. I was starting to resent travel. And travel is literally part of my job.
  • This leads to daily foot pain
  • Back and posture problems
  • Weak muscles and balance issues
  • Plantar fasciitis and heel pain

I Tried Everything

I had the neck pillow - the u-shaped foam one that everyone says works and that has never once worked for me. I had noise-cancelling headphones. I had a sleep mask that kept sliding up my face. I had melatonin. I had a cashmere scarf I'd wrap around my head like some kind of tired burrito.
Nothing solved the actual problem, which was: light gets in everywhere, and once it does, I'm awake.
I resigned myself to just accepting that I was someone who couldn't sleep on planes.

The Comment That Changed My Flights

About four months ago, I posted a photo from a layover - captioned something miserable like "another red-eye, another zombie landing" - and someone I followed replied with three words: get The Comfrt Airplane Mode Travel Hoodie.
I almost scrolled past it. It looked like a hoodie. I had hoodies. But she followed up with a DM:
"No, it has a built-in eye mask in the hood. I slept 9 hours on my Sydney flight. Actual sleep."
I looked it up. The Comfrt Airplane Mode Travel Hoodie. It didn't look like much at first glance - a well-made, oversized fleece hoodie in a bunch of colors. But then I noticed it: the hood isn't just a hood. It's designed with a built-in contoured eye mask that folds down and actually blocks light - not kind-of-blocks it. Blocks it.
I read every review I could find. Then I ordered it.

Here's What Makes It Actually Different

Most "travel sleep solutions" address one thing at a time. A mask for your eyes. A pillow for your neck. A blanket for warmth. You're essentially packing three accessories to solve one problem, and none of them stay put when you drift off.

The Comfrt Airplane Mode Travel Hoodie wraps the solution into one piece you're already wearing:

Man in a cream Airplane Mode Hoodie pulling the built-in eye mask down, beside three close-ups of the zip sleeve and kangaroo pockets

Built-in contoured eye mask

Sewn into the hood, shaped to sit flush against your face without pressing on your eyes, so it stays dark whether you're upright, leaning, or slumped sideways

Oversized double-lined hood

Blocks out ambient noise and light even before the mask folds down; it's like a sensory cocoon you're already wearing

Combed Cotton Blend™ Heavyweight Fleece

Heavy enough to feel grounding, soft enough that you forget you're wearing it; the kind of fabric that makes you exhale the moment it's on

Zip sleeve pockets + 8 pockets total

Your AirPods, passport, phone, lip balm, boarding pass - all accessible, all secure, no bag-rustling required once you're seated

Wrinkle-free and pre-shrunk

Lands looking exactly the same as it boarded

Built-in contoured eye mask

Oversized double-lined hood

Combed Cotton Blend™ Heavyweight Fleece

Zip sleeve pockets + 8 pockets total

Not a bulky travel pillow that takes up half your carry-on

Not a sleep mask that's off your face by hour two

Not a blanket that slides onto the floor at 2am

Not another single-use travel accessory collecting dust in a drawer

My First Flight in It

I wore it on a night flight from Bangkok to Frankfurt. 11 hours and 20 minutes.
I pulled the hood up about 40 minutes after takeoff, folded down the eye mask, and put on a rain sounds playlist. The man in 32A had his screen on full brightness the entire flight. I didn't see a single flash of it.
I woke up to the cabin lights coming on for breakfast. I had slept for almost 7 hours.
I sat there for a moment genuinely confused. I checked my phone. I checked the flight map. We were about 90 minutes from landing.
I had slept through the snack service, the turbulence over Turkey, and apparently an announcement I will never know the contents of. I landed in Frankfurt feeling - and I don't say this lightly - like a person.

If you want the full setup: hoodie on, eye mask down, AirPods in your zip-pocket sleeve, noise-cancelling on. The Comfrt Airplane Mode Travel Hoodie does the light work; your headphones handle the sound.

Together, you've essentially removed two of the three things that keep people awake on planes. (The third is an uncomfortable seat, and while The Comfrt Airplane Mode Travel Hoodie can't fix that, the heavyweight fleece goes a long way.)
